Don't allow the user to activate their account. Account activation by administrator only.

Yeah, it's going to go soon! I'm kind of busy right now so I'm trying to ban and delete the users (spammers) by IP address right now. Mail, I may change the account activation by admin only very soon. There's other ways to get rid of the robot spammers but I just haven't had time lately. It's kind of a catch-22 right now. I don't have time to modify phpbb3 to get rid of robot spammers and I don't have time to activate manually. However, the latter (activate manually) may be a better choice for now.

Well, for now I'm changing the settings to "Account activation by administrator only." So if you know anyone trying to join that's legit, pm me and I'll activate their account as soon as I can. Mail, thanks for the advice! :P

I made some changes to prevent "Bots" (forum robot programs) to create accounts. This should get rid of most or all of the spam. Anyway, users can once again create their own accounts (for now).

Duck, I forgot you have PhPbb 3.0 which has some good anti bot mods you can enable. That should take care of those little buggers.

Yeah, you have to add the anti bot mods but I found some good ones at the phpbb forums. So far, so good! :P
